If you go back to more Orbquest towers, you can buy equipment for later goes. Or, if you take the characters to a further campaign.

I thought it mentioned the value of the gold bars at $1000 ITL. In our campaign, IIRC, it was a 1 kg bar for $1000.

In my own campaign, I have a standard weight for coins (5 grams). So a 
1kg bar weighs as much as 200 coins. Then again, I have aluminum and 
adamantium as metals, too. Ever use a Lightning spell to do 
electrolysis from bauxite?
