I've been toying with the idea of making a minimalist Flash application that would provide:
1. Real time group access
2. Centralized control over whose turn it is to move/act
3. Simple coloring of hexes (maybe even tiles)
4. Player/Opponent markers with facing and optional rollover descriptions
5. Health/Fatigue tracking (entered by GM during action)
6. Die rolling
7. Area to post item or area descriptions
The idea is to use Vent or Teamspeak in conjunction with a simple webapp like this that uses a back-end event broadcasting service. So, when player A moves, it is broadcasted to all other participants as it happens.
Getting any more complicated than this is just a slippery slope. I figure just let the GM hit a button that shows the proposed move, and then another button that locks in the move as valid. Other GM buttons could allow them to add or remove opponents, etc..
I fiddle around with stupid stuff like this in my spare time, but I have not had much spare time lately. I wouldn't expect to see it anytime soon, but it's what I've been thinking and I though I'd share it in case someone else has the notion to do the same thing.
Good Fortune,
Richard

I'm still waiting for even one person to step up and say they had a vaguely
positive experience with cyberboard.
An audience is expectantly waiting and watching. Is Joe really content
with silence on the subject. Or is cyberboard really as reported, the paragon
of terribad. We may never find out. The creator refuses any type of dialog
whatsoever, and it's appearance as a topic of discussion seems to be on the
same radioactive half life as strontium. Now that it's been ten years, maybe
it'll be another five.
