Re: (TFT) 30 ST Figure Reaction to Hits
We extrapolated from the rule our own house rule which now reads:
"Creatures taking greater than ST/4 damage in a single turn will have their DX adjusted -2 for their next movement and action. Creatures taking greater than ST/2 in a single turn will be immediately knocked down. Creatures knocked down may do nothing for their next movement except stand or attempt to take a figure in HTH combat. Creatures knocked down may do nothing for their next action except ready a weapon or item and shake off the stunning impact and surprise of the blow. Similarly, a critical blow to a limb must do greater than ST/4 damage to make the limb unuseable, and ST/8 to be severed completely from the creature's body."
There are two justifications for the wording above:
1. Starting from a ST 16, we figured 16/4 = 4 (dazed/stunned) so we wanted to stick by the rules for the larger humanoid fighters. And 16/2 = 8 which maintained the same rule for the larger humanoid fighters for being knocked down. But, by making it a formula, we immediately reduced the amount of damage needed to daze or stun a smaller figure than ST 16 down to a 4. And a smaller figure is also knocked down on an 8. And, of course, this allows you to scale the damage to any size creature.
2. Note that a Stun/dazing effect is in effect for one movement and one action. This means that your current round of action is effected if you hit second and this effect will not extend into the next round if it has already handicapped you in the last round.
Good Fortune,
Richard

Hmmm. I didn't think to check versions. An OCR PDF that I have (which has a
1978 date) says this:
REACTIONS TO INJURY
A figure which takes 5 or more hits in one turn has its DX adjusted -2 for
the NEXT turn ONLY.
A figure which takes 8 or more hits in one turn IMMEDIATELY falls down. If
it has not already attacked, it may not attack that turn. It may do nothing
NEXT turn except stand up (or stay down). If it is in HTH combat it may do
NOTHING next turn.
A giant loses 2 DX for 9 hits in one turn, and falls down on 16.
Any figure whose ST is reduced to 3 or less has an extra -3 DX for the
remainder of the game. Any figure whose ST is reduced to 1 falls
unconscious, and any figure whose ST is reduced to 0 dies.
