Re: (TFT) TFT Industrial Revolution

I'm using a DX penalty not to represent inaccurate firearms (my firearms are a little more recent) exactly, but to represent that bows are more accurate in the hands of a skilled user. I"m also thinking of making it that Missile Weapons cannot be applied to Guns, with the end effect being:
Melee Fighters are the same as always.
Archers are the accurate and silent but less powerful ranged weapon group. Crossbowman are the accurate and more powerful but slower group (and require more strength) Guns are the ranged group that (at the beginning) are the most powerful but slowest and least accurate. As time goes on they become as fast as Bows (or in the case of revolvers and repeating rifles, slightly faster but at the cost of accuracy) and as deadly as a crossbow, but never have the stealth of a bow or the possible accuracy (not allowing missile weapons keeps them from ever being as accurate as a skilled bowman).
Wizards are the same.

One thing about inaccurate firearms is that it wouldn't exactly modeled by a DX penalty, since DX penalties can be overcome by skill, and if the problem is that they are unpredictably inaccurate, then skill doesn't help that.

Welcome!

I like the idea of someone with a powder horn getting hit with a lightning or fire spell. Spellcasters should be rare in most people's lives, but adventurers encounter them a lot.

Whatever you do decide, do remember that a world full of magic is a dangerous place to store gunpowder. Spells like lightning, fireball, etc makes it unwise to carry a powder-horn.

Good fortune,
