Not ItL's xp as far as I'm aware. I understand that the Codex had some xp
changes, but I've never seen a copy.

I don't have my book on me at the moment (lent it to a friend for a week) but
does the XP system take into account fighting someone with more points than
you? So that the iq 9 fellow will always be less than you, while the iq 20 guy
will be greater than you, at least at first.
