That's right. Figures can move up to 1/2 MA and attack with a non-pole weapon, and it's called a Charge Attack even if it's with a sword or axe or whatever. Only pole weapons get the double damage, but others running up to someone with a pole weapon will be vulnerable to the double-damage and +2DX "pole weapon against a charge attack" defense.
