Advanced Wizard has the rules for enchanting weapons, pages
25-35. I don't see specific rules to make a weapon extra-powerful
against a single type of enemy (although flaming weapons would be
more effective against some enemies, etc.). One might imagine a
combination (+2 sword)/(amulet vs. undead) item which would Avert
undead but without actually injuring them more than the normal sword;
that might still be a pretty effective weapon if used strategically
(avert into a corner, cause to fall trying to flee, attack with +4 DX
vs. a down opponent).
Starting on AW p.35 are the rules for inventing a magic item;
that might be a good place to look to create your own "special"
sword, etc.

As another list member pointed out, it's not often you see a
front-line fighter (and an effective one, it turned out) with *no*
weapons talents. "It's not my fault being the biggest and strongest.
I don't even exercise!"
I say:
Intiative.
Move. (includes??? HTH initiation?)
Actions. (includes disengaging)
If he moves into some ones hex during movement, they still get to disengage
because disengage comes BEFORE the attack.
He likes to HTH Becauuusee... reptilemen get double damage with hth
attacks. Hes a power gamer he likes to max damage and armor etc.
I say that he gets to disengage before HTH happens.
He says no.
I see there is an option to disengage from HTH on a 4d6 roll.
So whats the answer? I think its one of those exploitable holes. I dont
like it.
As Rick correctly pointed out, there's *lots* of material in
the archives, which I commend to you. Despite the duplication, I'm
still going to summarize my preferred interpretation, in the hopes
it's a quick fix for your complaint.
1) If the reptile man enters a target front hex during movement, he
ends movement there due to becoming engaged, not (yet) in HTH (4th
paragraph under 3. Movement, AM pp. 4). This takes precedence over
the HTH rules.
During actions, he may attempt to jump into the target's
actual hex per AM pp.15 ("Initiating HTH is considered an attack" but
note the restrictions, (a)-(d)), but this will happen at the same
time as a normal attack would have.
That means the victim, if he has a higher adjDX (or the same
adjDX and wins a tie-breaking die roll), could either do a normal
attack or disengage from the reptile man (before he can jump onto him
for HTH). If the victim has a pole weapon, he *will* get first
attack, presumably set vs. charge attack for +2 adjDX.
2) If the reptile man enters his target's hex from a rear or side
hex, case (1) does not apply. In this case, use the HTH rules (AM
pp.15.) The HTH attacker can move directly into the target's hex;
both fall at that moment (during movement).
The actual HTH attack/roll to hit/damage takes place during
actions, in order of adjDX. The victim doesn't get an action (even to
disengage), having fallen during the turn, but his friends
(particularly those with pole weapons) might get a chance to attack
the reptile man (+4 for reptile man being down). This is the ideal
case for the reptile man, but even in this case the defender might
roll a 5 (6 means roll again) for defense against HTH (AM pp. 15, top
of second column), and reject the HTH attempt.
This interpretation more or less puts HTH users into a
reasonable context. In open-field melees, where they can get around
their opponents and "clip" them from behind, they are deadly. In
closed-rank situations where they have to charge into a set array of
spears, swords, etc. they are at something of a disadvantage. Tactics
become very important, both to them and to their opponents.
