Re: (TFT) new player wants an attack worthy animal companion(wolf). what should i do with that?
Hi Joel,
Some GM's insist that every character starts
absolutely equal and must work their way up.
If everyone starts at the same point, that is
fine, but it takes longer before they start to
feel very different from the hundreds of other
PC's who have come before them.
I would insist he takes Animal Handler.
However, (in GURPS terms), I now allow every
player a few points for advantages. So if they
want to be noble I let them start with as a
son of a minor noble. Not too wealthy but the
PC has a mortgaged manor and a title. If he
wants a to be an amazing tracker, I say he has
a knack for it and can roll one less die when
tracking. And if he wants a wolf, then I would
start him with a nice tough one.
If the PC wanted a major advantage, I would
give him a disadvantage or two and or start him
off with a few less attributes.
But it is up to you of course.
Warm regards, Rick.
