How do human cities feed themselves? Farms, not generally in the cities themselves (and ITL says they prefer to live in underground cities, but not that they produce food underground, nor that they don't). That said, it is possible to grow plants and raise animals underground... though they might need to excavate a lot and import soil and seed and have a lot of light (probably Light items and/or people who know the 24-hour Light spell).
