Why not?   People have been applying poison to arrow tips for ages.

Claws are a bit more problematic - the user of the claw has to make 
sure they don't accidentally scratch themselves, suck on their claws,
have their claws touch their food, etc.  Remember the old dungeoneer's
trick of painting one end of a block of wood red and always putting THAT
edge up to the door to try to listen to what's on the other side ...

I would tend to say no to the claws, yes to arrow tips.
