Re: (TFT) Casting spells and DX

Similar to my feelings on changing the Talents system so they don't cost IQ.

It makes some sense, and on the extremes seems necessary... but its just not practically necessary and the jury rigged new systems always feel kinda off.

Not to mention requiring a whole separate notebook for new talents.

I've done similar silly things throughout my time with TFT, and stopped
because it didn't make the game any better.

But I'd say that you get one or the other -- DX bonus, or reduced
requirements (like gestures and voice) -- not both.

Per Advanced Wizard, if a wizard casts a spell below his IQ level by 5 or more points, he can do it without moving. However, the roll he makes to cast it is still against DX, which doesn't make an exceeding amount of
sense.

So my proposal is that, for every 2 points by which a wizard's IQ is above that required for a spell, the wizard gets a +1 DX to cast it. This makes smarter wizards much more likely to succeed at casting basic spells, which
to my mind makes a lot of sense.

Has anyone done anything similar in their games?
