Re: Sooo THIS just happened.

I think a graphic would be just perfect; "a picture is worth a thousand words!"  ;-)

Jeff -

Great feedback, thanks!

I've revamped some of the point pool stuff. One of the comments I got was that SP (the mana-like stuff) is used in different ways in different places and it's too confusing. So I streamlined that.

But I can see where you're coming from. I think you're right, I need to revamp the instructions around point generation, too. Spell it out more clearly.

Maybe a graphic? Either on the character sheets in the back, or an illustrated flow chart using them included in the main body of "Becoming"? Or is that overkill?
And I will double check the missing honor box. That would be bad...

Many thanks.

Jack,

I've only gotten about 25 pages into the first book, but one thing I would like to suggest (assuming someone else hasn't already) is that you put in the descriptions of the point pools an indication of how precisely they are determined. I'm assuming from my reading and the example that it's an average of the two characteristics that contribute to them, but nowhere has this been actually stated that I can see. It would make the examples you provide much more understandable if we knew immediately where the numbers came from.

Also the example character card seems to be missing Honor?

Will send more as I see it, but thus far, barring those two items, everything looks really well thought out.

To all who asked for a copy of my TFT OSR :

I've already gotten some excellent feedback. I'm finishing up the first set of revisions. I will send them out to all in the next day or two.

In the meanwhile, if you have any thoughts, by all means send them along.

Thanks.

hmmm, that's weird. I checked my outbox and the attachments are there. But I will resend.

Note, the rules are in two .zip files. There's a readme text as well. Could your email be filtering zip file attachments?

Let me know if they don't come thru.

Sure thing. Looks like Joe hasn't put them up on the Vault yet so I'll shoot you a copy directly.

I'll be interested to hear what you think. The TFT core concepts and design principles are still there. Combat & magic is very TFT, certainly.

But it really isn't TFT anymore: too many changes were needed to make that system playable in a long-term campaign, unless you want superhero figures -- and I really wanted to avoid the level distortions you see in MMORPGs like WOW. A pack of wolves should be dangerous no matter what level your toon is at, IMHO.

At any rate, feedback is always welcome.

Cheers!
