There are a *lot* of references that'll be lost on people who weren't
soaking up early '60's pop culture through their TV sets, mostly brand
names or ad slogans that haven't been heard in 30 years. One of the
elvish songs had recurring choruses that were mostly brand names:

Sing: Clearasil metrecal lavoris in chorus
The elves he tried to woo!

My fave, as well, though, was Tim Benzedrine:

Tim, Tim Benzedrine!
Hash! Boo! Valvoline!
Clean! Clean! Clean for Gene!
First, second, neutral, park,
Hie thee hence, you leafy narc!

(And then the _rush_ hits...)

A bit I've quoted for years now is the bit of gibberish that Frito says
after he's eaten the dubious-lookin' mushrooms and the little round
candies that 'melt in yoor brain, not in yoor hans!':
"Argle-bargle morble woosh?" said Frito. An all-purpose response :)
