(TFT) Hail Melee

Hail Melee. New Lister here.

John Paul Bakshoian age 40. Long term RPG player and G.M. I've attended the StrategiCons in L.A. since 1979. Though I've played D&D, Runequest, Shadowrun & GURPS and others, my drug of choice is The Fantasy Trip. While the pace of my youth has slackened, I still game TFT about half a dozen times a year. I have In The Labyrinth, Advanced Melee, Advanced Wizards, G.M. Shield, Codex, several of the box sets.

I am currently running a cthulhu campaign. I have a base of six players and I have these guys get raw recruits when needed. I occasionally run TFT games at cons. In a metropolitan area, it can be easier to get players, but they may have to travel 60 miles to get to a game.

As are many of the gamers on this site, I am also a game designer; Shadow Hex Games is my company. I'll have a website up in a couple of months.

I had been searching the net for TFT sites and last year found the GURPS site. It had very little info on Metagaming; enough to keep me looking. Then this year I found "home". Its taken me about four months to read through the entire listing, but I feel well grounded in the copyright debate, e-bay sales and the need for TFT materials. I have not gone to any of the links yet, though.

I am impressed with what Joe Hartley has done here. The monthly list is a great history and permanent data source. But I'm wondering, after a year, is this site what you expected? When I came across it, I was expecting more sharing of house rules and personal articles on TFT. (I admit again that most of what I'm looking for is probably on the links). I am very happy for those published articles that appear here. (I've been searching for Jackson's conversion of D&D to TFT for a long time.)

I've noticed on this site that there are a lot of people who are isolated from other gamers and also that some have excess or are missing books. Joe (or whoever), is it possible to create a matrix and post it on the TFT home page? A layout could be:

	Name John Paul Bakshoian
	City/State Pasedena, CA
Nearest Convention LA Airport (StrategiCon, OrcCon, Gamex)
TFT items owned ITL, AM, AW, Screen, several boxed sets
	Do you PBM? no
	Last updated 6/99

This could be updated by e-mail. It would at least generate a quick reference as to where TFT public is. Any other headings that should go into this matrix?

And now for my contribution to The Fantasy Trip culture:
	Troop Movement in TFT.

<read my next posting for details.>

John Paul
