Re: (TFT) Re: Question of Discovery
I founded the TFT mailing list and archive site when I was trying out
a product that searched multiple search engines automatically. I was trying
to think of a relatively obscure topic so that I wouldn't get deluged
with results. My eyes fell on my copies of Microgames on my shelf, so
I used something like "Melee & Wizard & Metagaming".
It returned the microgame website and mailing list, and after posting
a bit there about TFT, I realized there was enough traffic to warrant
a mailing list. Since I owned an ISP at the time, it was easy enough
to set up the list, website and archiving software. A few posts in
rec.games.frp.misc and the microgame list later, I was off and running.
Ty's site came a while after mine, I think, but he's been so good about
posting rule variations and the like, I figured it was pointless for me
to try and duplicate the effort. I think the two sites are excellent
companions to each other.
