Numbers were never discussed; if HT has a magic number
in mind, it was not disclosed.  The thing he really wants
to avoid is contact with gamers who have an idea and will
cut him in for a piece of unknown profits and other schemes
that involve him beyond "here's the check."

I know that when Steve Jackson first approached HT about
the rights to TFT, Howard quoted a very high sum.  This
seemed to be more about keeping the game away from SJ than
setting an actual price for it at the time.
