Re: (TFT) Oh, man!

From: Joe Hartley <jh@brainiac.com>

Ever seen a Jack Chick tract? They're usually left around in public
places in the hope that a sinner will read one and be converted to
Christianity.

I'm not one to question anyone's personal decisions regarding
religion, but this guy's pretty extreme. His position on Catholics
in particular is pretty vitriolic.

Turns out that he's got one decrying the evils of Dungeons and >Dragons! It makes for interesting reading, in the same way that >driver's ed films showing gory accidents are interesting.

Of course there's a website:
   http://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/0046/0046_01.asp

This is the sort of stuff that really gives me the willies.

Michael,
Wow, exactly how I felt. A fundi christian gave the Chick comic "Dark Dungeons" in in 1979. I was stunned. I went to a friend of mine and I said "but what if its true?". His eyes turned cold and hard, looked right at me and said "Then we'll all kick the shit out of you for not teaching us spells when we made it to the eigth level".

[Disclaimer: this joke was intended only for those who know about Chick publications and have actually read "Dark Dungeons" the radical christian comic that has people commiting suicide because their character got killed]
