(TFT) pole weapons

DMG, I would have thought a bec de corbin was like a pikeaxe of some sort,
which makes it more dangerous initially in TFT, but then not...
Also AD&D had differential damage vs size L critters to make it all the more
confusing for your conversion 2H swords doing 3-18 damage etc. Also there
was always the factor of high STR in AD&D and juicy damage bonuses (sp &
dble sp) which beefed up warriors quite alot.

I saw the weapons issue thus: TFT titrates weapons vs ST, the stronger you
are the bigger thing you can wield, whereas AD&D says you can have a range
of weapons, but if you're stronger, you do more damage with them (and more
so in the new 3rd ed. I think). Thus the laws of physics differ in both
worlds :)

I always thought 1 lvl equalled abt 1 attribute point in terms of game
time/experience played. Actual power of character is difficult as AD&D is
exponential like this (arithmetic vs geometric series & all that ???)

Anyway, overall I find comparing them is like whether I like a whopper with
cheese, or sorbet better. i.e. I can't, I like both at different
times................
