Seventh evening, Yes, I am a vampire, Part II

    You just knocked the apprentice back through the gate.  Eva stoops to 
take the diamond necklace off of Omni and put it on herself.  The sun has 
dropped below the trees but it is still light out and the two of you are 
still at DX -4.  You wisely take up a position in front of the gate and set 
your spear vs. charge.  This way you get DX+2 to who ever comes out of the 
gate next.  Remember pole weapons, like a spear, go first in a charge 
situation.  The first one out is another apprentice.

Apprentice
ST:  8     Staff 1D
DX: 13(12) Cloth armor (1)
IQ: 11     Staff 5, aid 1 per, summon myrmidon 2+1, illusion 2,
MA: 10     dazzle 3, fire 1, literacy(1), blur 1+1,

   After two rounds of fighting this guy the gate opens again.  Much to 
your surprise apprentices start coming out of each side of the gate.  One 
towards you, one on the other side.  One of them will wish that Omni is 
alive.

    It is advisable at this point that you and Eva just levitate away.  
Straight up into the clouds.  So far none of these guys has a missile spell. 
 So far.  After two turns of fighting the two guys above two more pop out.  
You and Eva are levitating up to a safe distance at this time.

    This pair of apprentices pop out of both sides of the gate.  One of 
them will wish Omni back to full health.  It is well that you are already 
fleeing.  Just before disappearing into the over head cloud cover you see 
two more pop out.
    Eva and you are floating up through the misty clouds now.  The light is 
fading. Twilight is upon you.  As you come to the top of the low flying 
clouds you have an interesting surprise waiting for you.  There are other 
vampires there waiting.  Sitting and lounging on the cloud tops like it is 
comfortable furniture.  They greet you with smiles, claps, and a round of 
applause.
