Use the approach of Lowest Common Denominator. Your work (quoted in the
original message) boggles the mind. Derringer to Bazooka, Bows to
Machine Guns... Or more to the point, from 1/96 to 45/1, with DX
adjustments. And you want that encoded concisely. Wow. LCD method
would encode some samples as below.
Device ROF(per 96) DX:ROF Suggested 'second column'
Heavy Ballista 1
Ballista 8
Lt. Arbalest 24 24:32 (Read as '24, and for 24 DX, 32')
Shotgun 32 16:48
Long Bow 96 18:192 1&18:2
Horse Bow 96 15:192 1&15:2
...
Machine Gun 4320
I suggest you either leave off the seige engines, or run a second column
beside the first which would ignore the seige engines, and show a figure
that actually fits in the mind of a player, perhaps starting at the
slowest ROF for a man-portable weapon.
