(TFT) Optional combat stuff...

I've tried these variations at various times throughout history, never quite
deciding to go with them permanently.

Ever notice that a broadsword is rated at 12 ST and 2D damage, a rapier is
9ST and 1D damage, a cutlass is 10 ST and 2D-2 damage, and a shortsword is
ST11 and 2D-1 damage. This implies that each ST point is worth 1 damage, and
3 points of damage is one die of damage.

Thus it would seem that ST12 swords come in many varieties: 6 points, 1D+3,
2D, 3D-3, 4D-6. But what's the difference? Plenty! a 6 point sword is
guaranteed to do at least a little damage to through most armor, but would
never knock down a person. A 4D-6 sword could possibly do 18 points, but
more often doesn't do squat.

Alternatively, a character could choose when attacking how many dice to roll
for damage. If your opponent is heavily armored, maybe you want to do fewer
dice, but higher average damage.

Other types of weapons are similar.
