    I knew this guy Ed Ott who had the most powerfull wizard character I 
have ever GMed.  He has only had the chance to use the 'Time Gate' spell 
once.  Now it seems the whole city has turned against his team.  Ed's 
character has refused to share the spell with the wizards' guild.  This does 
not go over well with the powers that be.
    Everyone, even old allies, are turning on them.  They are set on 
forcibly taking the prize of ages.  The Time Gate spell.  There is a lot of 
fighting.  Several close calls.  A couple of narrow escapes.
    Having his hand forced like this Ed's character decides what to do.  He 
goes back through the gate.  He has decided to strike a bargin with the 
Mnoren.  He finds one who is willing to deal and makes a secret plan.
    He convinces this small philosopher Mnoren hobbit that he will be 
better off in the future under the protection of the team.  He tells him 
that the Mnoren wind up turning on each other, self destructing, and hunting 
each other to extinction.  If he comes to the future with him he will be the 
only Mnoren left in all of Cidri.
    The Mnoren agrees.  'I want just one thing.'  Ed's character says.   
Can you first arange to have the city of Branya destoryed exactly one 
thousand four years, and one day from now?'
    'Yes.'  The Mnoren says.  The Mnoren goes off and aranges the 
destruction of Branya in the future.  Then Ed's character and the Mnoren go 
to the present.
    Ed gets the team together, they board their ship and sail 32 km away 
from the island where they drop anchor and wait for the morrow.
    The next day Ed's character watches from the deck of his ship as this 
huge metorite comes burning through the heavens.  It strikes the island 
mountain and explodes.  A huge billowing cloud rolls up and in on itself.  
The next day there is nothing left but a smoking crator.
    I took some time off from GMing after that.  I had to design a whole 
new campaign.  I spent time playing in other games and distilling new ideas. 
 Maybe I will make a city along the ring of the crator.  The hole in the 
middle of the island could make a nice safe harbour from ocean storms.
