RE: (TFT) Gandalf Falls



Alot!  Even a controlled "landing" (eg: non belly flow) can exert enough
force to collapse bones endwise and Gandalf was certainly not in control of
his fall.    

This "fall" is a classic setup in a Tolkein novel, stories of people vastly
exceeding their normal capacity in the face of great evil or need.  I
remember in Two Towers how Gimli, Legolas, and Aragorn ran for "days".  How
realisitic is that?  Somehow people in LOTR get "special" powers at special
times.

Charles,
    I guess I overlooked the obvious answer on that one.  Oh yeah, the 
water.  I guess a complicated interpretation of the flight spell is not 
needed.  Now to figure out how much damage a fall of that kind would do.
