(TFT) Test of general WIZARD knowledge, NUMBER I.rtf
Gaining energy out of the system.
A player has figured out how to power his Wizards' Lab with just his
one lone character. He estimates his wizard should be able to provide 100
fatigue strength a day, all on his own. And it should take under 30 seconds
to recharge his fatigue at any time.
Here is what the player lays out to you...
Previously he creates an Undine of ST 12.
Wizard character has been enchanting in the lab and has 4 fatigue he
wishes to regain
Turn 1
Cast Magic Rainstorm over the Undine; cost 4 fatigue
Total fatigue = 8
Turn 2
Drain 5 ST from the Undine, recharge 2 fatigue
Undine regains 4d from the Rainstorm.
Total fatigue = 6
Turn 3
Drain 5 ST from the Undine, recharge 2 fatigue
Undine regains 4d from the Rainstorm.
Total fatigue = 4
Turn 4
Drain 5 ST from the Undine, recharge 2 fatigue
Undine regains 4d from the Rainstorm.
Total fatigue = 2
Turn 5
Drain 5 ST from the Undine, recharge 2 fatigue
Undine regains 4d from the Rainstorm.
Total fatigue = 0
Here is the players supporting evidence. He cites the rules to justify
his position. The player even tries to help you "rationalize" it by saying
"It's a lost secret of the Mnoren. It's been there all along, but the guild
was too caught up in politics to realize it."
"... must expend 5 ST, plus 1 for every ST the elemental is to have."
-AM page 16, CREATE/DESTROY ELEMENTAL
"... they are potentially immortal."
-ITL page 58, ELEMENTALS
"... Each 5 ST drained from another gives on 1 ST to the recipient."
-AM page 13, DRAIN STRENGTH
"An Undine regains 4 dice of ST per turn if it enters a Magic
Rainstorm;"
-ITL page 58
How would you rule?
