Re: (TFT) Test of general WIZARD knowledge NUMBER II

The obvious mistake was not creating the Zombie with "Sex Appeal" and "Acrobatics". If Zantz can't dance, then how can he be Ultra-Supremo?

Test of general WIZARD knowledge NUMBER II

Let's see if anyone can answer this question correctly. First will be a
situation that is presented by the player. Now I ask that those who already
know the answer for sure hold off till Friday. Guesses, questions, and debate
are for today (Thursday) and I'll post my prepared one sentence answer on Friday
once someone gets it.

The Ultimate Player Made Zombie

Shawn Doucet approaches me with this.

Zombie
ST 16
DX 31

$150 Greatsword in one hand or two 3+1

Day 2 work
$16 4 apprentices casting 4 aid spells for 4 points of str each.
$14 For wizard casting zombie spell and using 5 of his own ST.

Day 1 work
$16 4 apprentices casting 4 aid spells for 4 points of str each.
$13 For wizard casting zombie spell and using 4 of his own ST.

total cost*
$209

*player supplies the cow.

Now here is where it gets interesting. With the "player supplies the cow"
comment. I know something is up, and I'm almost scared to ask. But I hear the
words coming out of my mouth. Cows don't have 31 DX.

Shawn explains: Day 1 the wizard casts Shapeshifting on the cow, and turns
it into a humanoid. Trade off St for Dx just like the shapeshifting rules
allow. Now he has a St 8, Dx 33, IQ 5 creature with hands.

"However, the IQ may not be raised, and the total of ST and DX may not be
raised. ST and DX may be traded off, lowered, etc., as long as neither is
reduced more than 1 below the usual minimum for the new shape."
- Advanced Wizard, SHAPESHIFTING page 17.

Then on Day 2 he goes back with the cow, kills it, and has the wizard cast
Zombie on it. All in all the great sword cost much more than the magical work
itself. Barring what ever price I want to set for the cow.
A zombie has a DX of 2 less than it had in life. So this guy wants to
shapeshift oxen into humanoids. Trade off St for Dx just like the shapeshifting
rules allow. Kill it (it only has Iq 5 after all), and make it into a zombie. He
pumps up the St with the liberal use of apprentices and it has a Dx of 31.
Aimed shots to the head galore.

   How would you rule?
