Re: (TFT) Patents, Copyrights, and a weird Halloween connection

M O'Hair: OK, that's creepy enough!!

TFT: Yeah, probably some platform is needed to keep "pure" TFT available as
"keeper of the books", and providing of new adventures. It's a real relief to
me to hear George promise that he wants TFT out there too and does NOT intend
to go after people keeping the flame. "Look and feel", as you comment Kirk,
is easy to elude, so adventures are probably OK anyway. I mean, how many RPGs
have a really different look and feel anyway? Without clear copyrights, TFT
probably cannot get shelf space, so it's important to do these things for a
while!

10000 Flowers Bloom: Realistically, we may have to fall back on "TFT
compatible" 3d6 games in order to have things readily available, which brings
you right back to Legends, which I don't think you like Kirk! The solution I
see would be to let 1000 flowers bloom (Mao or Bush or one of those guys) and
have George publish Legends, you publish a 3d6 system, me publish, etc...
eventually, you or George or Peter or whoever "hits it big" and has the money
to bring out TFT as well. Tough row to hoe!

I got out my "TFT II" notes last night and looked at them. OMG, if you put my
notes all together to make a game, it's totally *NOT* TFT. Yuck. :(>
