Shore to Continental Slope.

450 ft deep average.
Bottom soils/conditions are available on many nautical charts.
Brine pools at 2000 ft.
x5 saltier than ocean water so the brine acts like water in the water.

Continental Shelf to Abysal Plain.
Continental Slope.
1.5 miles depth.
Temp drop to 39deg, and soccer ball to size of softball from presure @ 1/3rd mile depth.
Methane Hydrate below 1000 ft.
Escaping gas makes water less dense, and boats can sink in a pocket of gases.


Abysal Plain.
About 1.5 to 3.7 miles depth.
Flat, gas oozing mud bottom.

up to 12,000 ft eleavation.
runs like the seam of a baseball.

Fish were observed at the bottom of the Marianas Trench.
