Duh! Apparently,  I haven't had enough caffeine today. I'm certain that
the sheep's peculiar digestive system breaks down the poison anyway.
Even if rubbed externally on the sheep, I recall reading some ancient
chemist tome that lanolin denatures reptile poison.

Reptile poison dosen't affect sheep as they are mamals.B  So the dragons
were
being tempted by live sheep.
