D'oh! Yahoo messed up my e-mail.
The Romans got beaten down early. Flavius Aetius revealed his secret weapon -- his Reverse Missile -- too early when a viking threw an axe at him. Thus warned, Thor never shot Aetius with lightning. Meanwhile, the Romans were the only team with archers, and since the skeletons were immune to missile fire, the Roman archers got impatient and broke the alliance early, trying to shoot the Knights' unarmored horses out from under them. This pissed off the Knights, and Sir Bors saw an opening that took him into the Roman rear where he wreaked absolute havoc with his cavalry lance and superior mobility.
The middle of the game was owned by the Vikings, with Thor flying right over the Orb and laying waste to his enemies with lightning. Pretty soon all the horses were dead, but so were most of the vikings, and Thor had to land, out of magical strength.
The last few turns were two seperate simultaneous mano a mano battles: an uninjured (but magical strength drained) Thor versus an uninjured Sir Galahad, and an uninjured Beowulf against an ininjured Sir Bors.
Most valuable players were Thor and the Viking spearmen (including an "advanced" version of Ragnar the Impetuous). One Viking kept forcing retreats on poor Aetius, causing him to move further and further downhill while the Viking relentlessly charged with his spear. Sir Bors probaly had the highest kill count, though.
Both Vikings prevailed!
My advise is to not spend too many points on missile weapon troops. The skeletons are immune to missile weapons, so by the time you're ready to actually use your bows the battle's already moved into a huge melee on the hill.
