Not quite sure how you mean. The "square-cube law" applies, or put 
another way, a 1/16" layer of Plate on a Giant would stop as many 
hits as the same layer on a Human, but would be a far smaller 
fraction of the Giant's mass. So I'd expect a Giant to be less 
encumbered by the same amount of armor than a human would be.
