I abandoned hexes years ago. <duck-dodge-weave>.

I mostly use squares.  Mostly tile sets from FatDragon or WorldWorks.

Actually, a lot of the time I use inches and wing it.  I come from a 
historical miniatures background, and inches make perfect sense to me.  We 
often play on 3D terrain (outdoor adventures).
