Well illustrated, and a really important and good point.

I really love having a game-world whose infrastructure holds together under examination, and this sounds (as with most of Jay's work) as though it absolutely would.

There's a great passage in an SF book in the Miles Vorkosigan series by Lois McMaster Bujold. Miles is assigned duty maintaining a base sewage system. It'd have been boring work, but Miles approaches it trying to figure out how the sewage system could be disabled by sabotage ...

It's all interesting if you look at it the right way.

And it all makes good PC scenarios if the GM looks at it the right way.
