Re: (TFT) High Level Play

One way to have the challenge is to have them come against similar opponents or lots of weaker foes- as you said, at around 40, you are still far from invincible, you are just pretty darn good. So even just a few lower powered enemies can quickly dish out enough hits to kill you.... See, thing is, with 40 points, you end up with a coupla builds, but really, even your highest attribute is a 20 at most, and then you are so unbalanced that you are not likely to live very long anyway. So you really reach your max around, idk, 17 for a single attribute? And at that point, armor (especially of the heavy variety) will really decrease your ability to hit still, you still can only take a few hits from any mediocre weapon, and you still don't have an insane number of spells or talents. So though you'll probably win a one on one against a weaker opponent, the game still plays pretty similarly, and a few 32 pointers can easily take you down.

At around 40 you start getting into the more elite group- still
quite a few people are around this level, but its the better
fighters, a good archer, a good scholar, that sorta thing.

At 50 you are nigh on one of the most capable people around. Very
few people can match your abilities.
60 basically just doesn't happen, and would be somewhere around
where you get into superhuman territory.

Seems right on to me. I've GM'd a campaign for awhile with some 40pt
characters, and individually, they're good but not infallible. In a
group, though, they're really deadly. To the extent where I sometimes
have trouble coming up with good challenges.
