When you look at a map and put the wizard in the center of a MMH you
see an odd thing: in the 6 directions that a straight shot goes in, 
there 3 hexes before you hit the edge.  A shot that has a slight bend
to it can go 4 hexes before hitting the edge.

I agree with the wizard's player.  The targeted hex is not in a hex
connected with a straight line to the wizard's, but has that slight
bend, so I'd rule the slinker to be toast.
