Re: (TFT) chances of doing very little damage

Quoting PvK <pvk@oz.net>:
Cool, Jay. Thanks for the link. It's a bit like Medieval Swordsmanship: Illustrated Methods And Techniques, by John Clements. http://www.amazon.com/Medieval-Swordsmanship-Illustrated-Methods-Techniques

Clements has many detractors. I'm one of them.
I'm sure your probably aware but in case anyone else isn't getting what I'm
trying to talk about with edged weapons this guys site give a basic idea of
where I'm trying to come from. http://mysite.verizon.net/tsafa1/pell/index.htm

Except that that guy has really abominable technique.
Read this instead:

http://www.bellatrix.org/school/

So that you can judge for yourself, video of me can be seen on youtube by searching for

Northshield Spring Crown 2008. I'm the guy in the Japanese armour. I won that tournament.
One of the period manuals I foind most interesting is this one:

http://www.thehaca.com/spotlight/lejeudelahache.htm

It's on pollaxe fighting. Mostly, it's about wrestling, and how swinging it is poor form because the other guy will clean your clock.
