(TFT) First edition Melee

Wow, that is a great find!  I have one BUT my friend4s dog ate the map and so
now I have a second edition map instead, and of course the pieces have been
cut and used.  If I remember, it came with one small white die with black
pips.

There should be small dots in the center of each hex, but on the 4 entry hexes
on each side (8 total) the dots are instead very small stars, so small we
didn't notice until years later and never could figure out what the rules
meant when they said setup in the starred hexes!

Put this game away and keep it safe! :)  There was only one copy of this game
left at the local hobby store in '77 and my three friends and I flipped for
it, and I got it!  Changed my gaming life and imagination forever

So, I just had to tell this group!

I was at a game store in Long Island this afternoon and, under a pile
of old game magazines, is a 1977, 1st edition Melee still in it's
original bag. Up to the counter I go. "How much you want for this old
game, it looks interesting." The guy looks it over and say: "How about
$12?" "Yea" I say, "Sounds good".

In the car I opened it. The map has never been unfolded, the counters
have never been cut. It even has the yellow post card inviting me to
get a free games brochure!

Wow. What a find. I'm suddenly back in college with all the memories
this one little book brings back to me....
