Wouldn't we all?  Of course, you can check out Dark City Games and Heroes and Other Worlds for a more modern take on the old system.  Frankly, I think DCG is pretty close to the way Steve Jackson himself might have re-worked the skills set in a hypothetical re-write of TFT.

If I ever become a billionaire, I fully intend to buy the rights to TFT and then commission Steve Jackson to do an update and rewrite...

Well, I ordered that Forests of Whatever module from diffworlds. So thanks for mentioning the site!

I'd really love to have original copies of this stuff, but of course what I'd actually like is a new, modern edition. 

Because I could afford the latter, but not the former. :D

The value of something is what someone else is willing to pay :)
I went looking for Metagaming games on Amazon and have been having
quite a chuckle over some of these prices.
