The DTs

No, not *those* DTs, Death Tests!

I spent a lovely Sunday afternoon working through Death Test with a team
of adventurers I haven't seen since the 90s who are 26 pt. characters.

I played with just the Melee rules, and it was touch-and-go, especially
since Barthok (AdjDX: 13) couldn't seem to hit the broad side of a barn,
and when he did he rolled pitifully weak damage. He was in danger of
becoming an ex-character at one point, but a fortuitous potion kept him
on this side of the grass.

The game ended on a high point, with Takandra swinging her broadsword first
(AdjDX: 14) and rolling a 3. Yessss, let's see what the shortsword (2d-1)
can do... 12!! 33 damage to a ST30 giant!

I started laughing out loud, trying to imagine how that would have gone
down. Did she slice the giant in half? One amazingly well-targeted thrust?
How hard would it have been to pull it out again?

It was a pleasure to play this on the new playmat with the bigger counters,
and with the spiff new dice that came with the new Melee. Next time I'll
include the Wizard rules and see if I can make it through DT2.
