(TFT) Dragons/Lords of the Underearth and the TFT system

Has anyone used Dragons or Lords of the Underearth as a supplement to or 
substitute for the TFT combat system?  I just picked up Lords of the 
Underearth, part one of a proposed trilogy that never was completed.  
The combat system is a LOT different from TFT, being geared towards 
larger groups.  

These gamelets?  Standalones?  Were meant to be fully compatible with 
TFT, but that looked like a bear to me... lots of initiative 
determination from what I saw.  Has anyone ever tried a LotU/DotU+TFT 
graft or mutation?
