(TFT) Greff's Journal, late 4th night
Well I talked to Galendaar and Merrick
about that Druid. Galendaar listened real close but
generally didn't seem too bothered about the Druid.
He thought I didn't like him because the druid is
a different religion, but I don't think that is it. I
like Galendaar and he worships the elven gods
after all. I just don't like the priest who is suppost
to keep our souls safe, running around with a
demon companion. I mean just think about this
for a moment...
I mentioned to Galendaar that there
was some sort of strange mind control magic
going on, and asked him if he thought that Druid
was controlling Ben's mind, but he said that if
the Druid could control 50 goblins he could have
done us all in, a long time ago. He said a bunch
of other stuff and it wasn't until after
Galendaar had gone that that was not what I
meant. I know that that Druid was not the one
who did the spell on all of the goblins, I was
just thinking they might be sharing some of the
strange mind control spells. (Later Merrick
said much the same thing.)
Anyway after he heard my evidence
he said that he would keep an eye on that Druid.
I talked to Merrik and he was
suspisious about that Druid too. He thinks that
Galendaar should magically question him and
then we will have proof. I said that I didn't
think that Galendaar had a Telepathy spell. He
said that if we tortured that Druid for information
that it would lower moral especially if he was
innocent and we should try to find a better way
to find out what is going on.
He also said that I shouldn't be hasty,
that it was not time to enslave or kill the Druid
yet.
Well Ben and Galendaar still seem to
trust that Druid and Merrick is still willing to
give him some more rope, so I guess that is it.
We will wait and watch, but I feel better because
I know a couple more eyes will be on it.
Galendaar didn't want to talk about
it but I found out from the others what happened
when the goblin spy was questioned. The
goblin spy said he had promised not to reveal
any military secrets, so everyone figured that we
would not be able to get anything out of it. Then
that Druid started going on in HUGE detail on
how he would torture the goblin to death. When
it got too sickening to stand Galendaar stopped
that Druid and said that if the goblin promised
to answer some questions on non-military
matters we would let him live. The goblin said
he would.
Galendaar then started a long line of
questioning, and when the goblin was in the
habit of answering he cast a series of confusion
spells on it with out it even knowing. When it
was stupid he wormed some info out of it.
The goblin couldn't remember exactly
what it was saying when it was confused but
it soon realized that we had forced it to break its
word about not revealing military secrets.
Any way it suddenly jumped up,
dove into a bonfire that was burning all those
dried branches and pulled the fire on top of
itself like a blanket. By the time we pulled it
out it had breathed living flame and was just
roasted. Galendaar was pretty upset and I
think he is blaming himself for not tying down
the spy before tricking it into breaking its word.
The thing is that everyone was horrified
when it killed itself EXCEPT that Druid. He
acted like he didn't care. I don't know if this
was because he really does not care if someone
dies in that horrible way, or if he was hiding his
relief that the spy couldn't give away anymore
information.
Well I just realized I'm really tired
so I'm going to sleep.
