Dear JPB,
calling half-orcs & half-elves halflings?? Naah, halfling & hobbit are synonymous in my grey matter. We did start calling Reptilemen 'Repies (sing. Repy) as a gender neutral term (reptileperson sounded naff). This is very Australian. We here make diminutives in -y or -ie all the time: biscuit=bikkie, mosquito=mozzie, breakfast=brekkie, TV=telly, trucker=truckie, wharfie (=waterfront worker), cocky=cockatoo or cockroach
