Oh yeah ... one more thing ...

Put down the two handed weapons ... that's right ... just lay it on the
floor there.  Yes, good ...

For your fighters, take a shield and the heaviest weapon your ST
will allow.  Even a small shield is a cheap way to get some extra
hits stopped.
