If 5th Ed is like 4th Ed (aka "T4") it is already very much like TFT in its 
advanced forms. Tasks of moderate difficulty are rolled on 2d6, with the 
number of dice changing as the difficulty does. Aside from maybe bumping 
everything up to a default of 3d6, grafting in the TFT action rules, and 
using T4/5 skill-experience rules instead of the Stat/Talent based rules of 
TFT (since Traveller is all about the skills and not about climbing stats), 
and you've done most of the work already...
