GURPS isn't really broken. It just needs a wee bit of cleaning up. After all, it 
has 12 years of accumulated new rules and addenums that have never been 
completely reintegrated into a single system. It still works exceedingly well. 
It's still my system of choice for most every genre, except Fantasy (which 
would be TFT).
