Re: Re:(TFT) Hymenopteran Version continued
I guess you could say I havent worked out all the bugs out on this
species yet B^)
The natural predator to the mimics has exploded on the island also.
These mainly consist of rare to extremely rare Insects/Monsters
that have come into their own with a freely available food source.
They include giant praying mantis', giant scorpions, giant spiders
of several types, wolf, jumping, orb, giant dragonfly's, giant
toads and frogs and chameleons. Basically the islands gone to hell
since the new neighbors moved in B^)
The Mimics don't exploit/use the above species as anything except
food and there is usually easy prey to be had. It is just getting
to the point that the island ecosystem is on the point of collapse
due to mimic over population, so expansion is in order.
Will follow with the stats on some of the listed predators
Chameleons- Large 1-3 hex reptiles ST 25+ DX 13 IQ 7 MA 10/14(full
run) Armor-scaly skin stops 2 points, can blend in with their
surroundings or physically match any equally sized animal of their
own size. They attack by ambush or by integrating themselves into
a herd of beasts and waiting for an opening where they can grab
their prey and run. Bite on a 1hex does 1d6+1, 2hex 2d6, 3hex 3d6-
1, tail does 1d6 to any character in the rear -4dxadjustment for
double attacks in the same turn apply. When trapped this reptile
will go berserk and gain the adjustments just like a humanoid who
goes berserk. THey will run when out numbered or outstrengthed if
possible. Chameleons are normally solitary but during the breeding
season they will hunt in pairs. A clutch of 7-12 blue-green eggs
(size of a soccer ball each) is placed in a large grass and
earthen mound to hatch the female guards the nest when not hunting.
Chameleons are highly prized by rich nobles and other entitys
needing a vicious guard animal they are easily trained when young
and can be kept in any enviornment where the reptile stays warm.
They are extremely rare in the temperate parts of the continent,
and rare in the southern part, on the island of Thok they are
common at the moment. B^)
