From: Mark Tapley <mtapley@swri.edu> Stronghold is in high mountains. Above the top of the stronghold is a glacier.Forges, cook-fires, etc. have long chimneys that lead up to an exit chamber under the glacier. The hot air melts glacier ice, which is collected in a catch-basin in the chimney exit chamber, and flows down into the "plumbing" system of the stronghold. Each level has light shafts going out to the mountain face. Stronghold needs a constant supply of wood or fuel of some sort. Can dwarves herd mountain-goats? Stronghold needs an outlet for the waste-water stream. Thoughts and comments welcome as always.
Mark,I have never seen, heard, nor heard tell of anthing quite like this. Very original. But what prescious metal/gem are the dwarves mining for? The heart of the Lonely Mountain was an enormous diamond. Moria was a rich mithril vein. What are the dwarves digging up from the mountain under the ice?
