RE: (TFT) Attributes of legendary status - question for the list

Hi Everyone,
I do put maximum limits on PC attributes.
The basic version is take minimum attribute and
multiply by 5.

So the maximum ST of a human is 40, the
max ST of a Dwarf is 50.

When people sacrifice attributes to buy
existential potentialities (part of my demi-god
rules) they lose (for example) a ST and a
maximum ST. Thus there is a permanent cost
that they can't dodge buy earning more
experience.

However, I've only had 2 characters in my
20+ year campaign who were bestowed potentialities
by holy beings, and no one has come close to
maximizing out their attributes, so really it is
a non-issue.

	Rick

Subject: (TFT) Attributes of legendary status - question for the list

It may also be a matter of scale: My game simply doesn't produce St 25
dwarves. Characters of 50+ points are of legendary scale - the Robin Hoods
and
Conans of the world,
----------------------------------------------------------
Just for the record, "pete the Brick" started as a 32 pt character like
everybody else. And over the course of a couple of years earned the exp to
become a 48 pt character (st25, Dx14, IQ9) he just put most of his points in
St. I don't know if I'd call them legend, but the party did achieve some
renown.

My question for the list is this:

Do you place an upper limit on the attribute scores of your players?

Obviously I do not. If you want a 25 ST, more power to you, you can do what
you want with your experience as far as I am concerned. Admittedly the
issue usually only comes up in a fairly long running campaign, but what do
you think?

John
