PS: the other antidote to healing time is a character tree like AD&D Dark
Sun suggested in the 80s - each player rolls up a few characters but is
onloy allowed to take one on any given adventure - that way character #2 can
be used if #1 is convalescing. Then, when #1 is better, #2 can go off an
make things/study/whatever. This is more of an issue in D&D where levels
were so important though.
