The race animosities in TFT are traditional but are just a few quick words, like stereotypes included as a seed, whereas in other systems (D&D, Warhammer, Palladium, etc...) these tend to be described in great detail and systematized (7th level Lawful Neutral Grey Elf Fighter/Monk bla bla puke yawn snore...) - leaving little detail for players to fill in.

In general, ITL tends to teach players how to create their own worlds, while D&D tend to encourage players to collect ($$ ka-ching $$) the stuff the publishers came up with.
