(TFT) More Wargame Talk...

As well-thought-out and intelligent as your ideas are for the wargame rules, I think you may be barking up the wrong tree, Mr. Smith. TFT is foremost a tabletop-miniatures-combat game according to it's roots (Melee & Wizard). Yes, I know the figures were 2D paper counters, but this was a cheap way to included miniatures with the game. Counters with combat/movement/morale and stacking limits and zones of control and Combat Results Tables, etc..., are way off the path, IMHO.

Why not strive to create a simple miniature combat system which works with heroes at 1:1 scale, and mass troops at (say) 1:10 scale (i.e., 1 figure represents 10 soldiers). If you could write the rules in such a way that a figure could be played with the straight TFT rules and the troops had a modified set which factored in numbers, you'd hit a home run.

And if your game could be played with miniatures OR with counters, you'd be batting 1000!

Of course, I personally gave up paper-counter boardgames 20 years ago. If it ain't 3D, it ain't for me. I may be in the minority...

Respectfully,

Gavin =====
